About Us

The mission of Capital Preparatory Schools is to provide historically disadvantaged students with the college and career readiness skills needed to become responsible and engaged citizens for social justice.

Capital Preparatory Schools was founded by Dr. Steve Perry in 2012. Dr. Perry founded Capital Prep Magnet School, located in Hartford, CT, in 2005 and has led the school for the last 10 years to 100% of high school graduates being accepted to college. Believing passionately in student success, the Capital Preparatory Schools replication model started with Capital Prep Harbor School in 2015 and will continue in New York with Capital Prep Harlem in 2016.
