Lisa Buffington, Board Chair
Lisa Buffington is Vice President of Retirement & Wealth Services for Marsh McLennan Agency. She is a financial advisor and consultant supporting employers’ retirement and financial wellness programs offered to employees and is recognized as a passionate industry leader with 35 years of experience. Prior to working at Marsh McLennan Agency, Lisa worked at Prudential Retirement in Hartford, CT which is when her initial work with Capital Prep began.
Lisa has a strong passion for women's professional development, financial literacy education, and urban city K-12 educational reform. Lisa has been involved with Capital Preparatory Schools over 14 years as a scholar mentor, financial literacy education volunteer, and currently serves as the Board Chair for CPS’ non-profit charter management organization.
“My personal experience and involvement with Capital Prep well preceded my Board Chair role for the CMO and started back in 2010. My involvement started with the students – to say that I was immediately hooked and inspired is an absolute understatement. Capital Prep scholars represent “Inspiration in Action” that is making positive impacts in their communities and represent our future leaders who deserve a chance to achieve what they are capable of. My desire to help the CPS leadership team to further build out and replicate their one-of-a-kind Capital Prep model of success has kept me and my fellow Board members actively involved over the last 10 years.”
Robert Tyndall
Robert H. Tyndall is vice president and Risk Officer for Prudential's corporate functions. This includes oversight for Prudential's Operational Risk Framework and supporting technologies. Previously, he was the Risk Officer for Prudential Retirement, a business unit of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU), and a leading provider of defined contribution, defined benefit, nonqualified deferred compensation plan administration, and institutional investment and risk management services.

Ira Rubenzahl
Ira Rubenzahl served for 20 years as President of two Community Colleges - 8 years at Capital Community College in Hartford, Connecticut and 12 years at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Presently he teaches mathematics at the University of Hartford as an adjunct professor.
Rubenzahl has served on the Capital Preparatory Board for 6 years and has been Secretary of the Board for 4 years.
His education includes a BA in mathematics from Princeton University and a PhD in Physics from M. I. T.
